Large Condesers

Description/Specs

AKG 3000 (2)

large-diaphragm cardioid condenser. I've got one silver and one black. These are the older model with a -10db pad, LF roll-off and a card/hyper-cardiod pattern. I love all the switches for the versatility. I've had moved these up Ceiling mounted goosenecks's for room mics and was  switching between these with the ECM omni's.

I've since freed these up and use them on

I generally apply them on the Piano (I'm hoping to score a AMT M40), but I used these for Drum Overheads as well as for Upright Bass, Room Mics and voice.

Small Condesers

Description/Specs

SE Electronics SE1

small diaphram Condenser. I often put this underneath snares especially with brushes. I like it on Sax, Acoustic Guitar and Piano , I'm no longer using this on the Hi-Hat because I just don't need it, but it works great there as well.

Studio Project C4 (pair)

I love small condensors and these are excellent! They get used on Piano, Overheads and guitars; with the omni caps, they work as great as spaced pairs room mics or in a M/S configuration.

Oktavia MK012 .

These are my Drum Overheads. I occasionaly use them on acoustic guitar. I've recently scored a second pair and have mounted them inside my upright piano, I hear they work really well as tom mics...  I'd love to get the hyper-cardiod and omni caps.

MXL 603

Overheads, acoustics, perc! Bright.

I borrow these when I've got a ton of musicians in both rooms.

Charger, Ziemba and Charp all have a pair.

Behringer ECM 8000.

Omni, measurement mics. Boy they're even on just about everything..... OMNI is way cool!

Tuning the room... Omni room and fill.

Type: electret condenser, omni-directional measurement mic

Ultra-linear frequency response

Evenly weighted, true omnidirectional pattern

Phantom powered +15V to +48V

Impedance: 600 Ohms

Beta Green 4.0 Small diaphram Cardiod Condenser

Small diaphram Condenser 40-18 KHz

discontinued in 1997

I often aim this down at Hi Hat (away from snare). It's an old cheapie, but hey it's a shure and it sounds decent on most things including Sax, Piano, Guitar,

Figure 8 ribbon. Just got this puppy. It's sounding great on Cello and violin! Should work well on guitar amps as well. I'm tempted to work it in a Mid Side as Drum overheads!

Sennheiseher HF 521 (MD 421 w/o bass rolloff)

MD 421 / Black Fire 521

Nice EQ curve built in.

Sennheiser E602

Nice thump on the kick. EQ built in.

I'm getting a righteous sound, buy putting these pretty deep inside the bass drum at a slight angle to the beater, I combine it with a LDC about a foot away.
